Anyone try before the new usb 3.0 to 4port gigabit network hub ?

Swk21

Is there possible that , the usb 3.0 4port gigabit hub can reach the same speed of pcie quad ethernet card with 4 cat 5 cable ?  How fast can it reach ? I planned to use at my laptop if the speed is good enough

Compared to a PCIe card, it will be much slower.

With overhead and controller constraints you'll be lucky to see 1 to 2gbit total throughput

Technically , usb 3.0 max speed is 5gbps , should able use full speed of 4gigabit of network speed ?

Well there's total throughput, which means total traffic passing through it vs how fast your laptop can pump data out. Unless you're running a striped SSD array, I suspect you wouldn't be able to saturate all 4 ports if the hub could handle it.

If this is more like a switch and has a controller built in, I'd agree 1-2gbit/s for total throughput for that price point. If it's meant to give your laptop 4 individual NICs and relies on the USB controller to do all the work, I'd say 1gbit/s or less total.
