What are your thoughts on Forza Horizon 4?

3 Lions

Hi guys,

So Forza Horizon 4 got announced yesterday and I just want to collect people thoughts on what we know already.

Personally I think it looks like a banging game. The location was always a two way race between the UK and Japan and the UK won.I can see why as well since Playground Games is based in the UK so the developers know what it's like to drive in the UK, I mean they drive to the HQ everyday. Hopefully this allows for details (small and big) that were never possible in the past three Horizon games, with the past three games the research team was flown to the different countries whereas with Horizon 4 they just have to walk out of their front doors to get the feel of environment correct for the game. The same goes for the cars as well, because where they are based is close to the British Motor Museum in Gaydon along with the Jaguar Land Rover development site and Aston Martin HQ/factory they can go they go and get good models of cars that feature in the game. I love the idea of the dynamic seasons because without it the UK as a location wouldn't work, it would be a bit unrealistic to be always in summer since the the seasons in the UK are always changing and throwing challenges at drivers.

What are your thoughts on what has been revealed so far?

Personally I haven't been too much of a fan since the first and second one. I think they have way too many offroad and weird stunt races when to me the game was the most fun as a semi-realistic street racer. The third one is probably the least played game I have. I mostly stick to pCARS and then I'll jump into The Crew if I want an open world driving thing. I'm actually a bit more hyped for the Crew 2 actually.

Yeah I mean if you don't really enjoy the series anyway then it probably isn't for you, maybe try the demo when it comes out to see if Horizon 4 is for you. I was too looking forward to the Crew 2 but after seeing gameplay of it I wasn't impressed.

Horizon 3 has been fun to aimlessly hoon around in to unwind. I probably don't need another game like it though.

I feel like driving off-road gave it more personality, however I think too much off-road is a bad thing. Going off-road in the second one was such a relief from the first because I felt like I was in hallways rather than an open road, like it was a normal Forza game. The third pushed a little more but there was still a decent balance between on road and off-road. I hope they find the perfect balance in the 4th, either way I am super excited for the 4th because I absolutely love the entire series. Especially now its going to be available on the pc like the 3rd was.

never did like how wide the roads are, but i guess it's done because most people are gonna drive exotics or generally really fast cars

That was the one thing I never liked about the Forza series in general. Nurburgring is like a 4 lane superway in that game LOL
