Optimal airflow setup? Corsair fans/cooler

Hey guys just wondering if I can get your thoughts on the optimal layout of various corsair fans in a potential upgrade I'm looking at.

 

I'm looking at a H100/H100i, top mounted with two pull OR push fans set to outake.

One rear outake

Two intake

 

Which fan layout do you think would work best? I'm thinking the two stock SP120L's for the radiator, quiet edition AF140 for rear outake and two more undecideds for the front intake

 

If it helps I have a stock i7 2600k and a Gigabyte GTX 570.

Linus (and I too) prefers a pull/exhaust config on AIO rads. His testing finds it to be 'ever-so-slightly' better PLUS it helps with dust removal when cleaning.

Looks fine. It won't be quiet though. Corsair fans are far from it.

If you set your case / airflow up properly you should have barely any dust to clean, even after a year.

  • Set two front fans a intake
  • Set top (where the H100 / H100i is) as exhaust

IMO, either push or pull is about the same. Go whichever way is more convenient for you.

I'll do what I can, do you know of some good 120/140mm screw on or magnet dust filters?

IMO, either push or pull is about the same. Go whichever way is more convenient for you.

The problem with that is you are pushing hot air through the rad and therefore loosing more cooling potential from the AIO cooler on the CPU because it has hotter coolant.

The problem with that is you are pushing hot air through the rad and therefore loosing more cooling potential from the AIO cooler on the CPU because it has hotter coolant.

That's why I suggested to have all the other fans as intake, forcing cooler air into the system.

Keep in mind, hot / warm air naturally rises. If you set the top fans (radiator) as intake...that's not a good idea. What I mean is, you are forcing the air to go down and through the radiator...but the warm air will naturally directly oppose that.

Setting the rest of the fans in the system as intake (more Intake versus exhaust) will help "push" the air up, through the radiator as well.

Ah, I'm using a Coolermaster Storm Enforcer.. not completely happy with it but it does the job haha

That's weird. As far as I know the case only supports 120mm and 200mm fans. What's with getting 140mm fans?
