CentOS Broken After VMWare ESXi RAID Failure

AvocadosGuac

Hey Guys,

Disclaimer: I have no working backups for this system, so don't bother asking. It was stupid, and i'm already mad as is. (Sorry if that came off as rude)

Anyways, i have a broken CentOS 6.9 Machine.

I have the LVM File, could be corrupted, i'm not sure. I can get into a shell file, when i boot from centos 6.9 install media but the recovery tool is no help.

Anyways, does anyone know any shell commands that will allow me rebuild the filesystem or grab the one SQL database i need???

Thanks!

How did the raid fail? What raid config?

Data recovery service might be usefull here.

Yes this was a VM,

No backups.

Raid 5 FAIL, had to rebuild it onto another drive which took more than 36 hours

Im hoping i can get a solution here, but i guess the next step is to call up some recovery places.

So what happened to the array? When you did the rebuild was all the data intact?

How was the array made? what raid card?

If you need the data thats probably your best option.

Otherwise, make a copy and play around with the file.

What happened during the rebuild? was there an error?

Nope, the raid card said it rebuilt successfully.

I have the LVM copied to my local machine, after spending hours trying to figure out how to enable ssh on vmware to do it...

Thanks for the recommendation for photrec, ill try it out now.
