Interesting. Asus dropping arez(likely atleast) and msi launching a separate brand for amd the same week.

Yes, but you have to consider the fact that there must be some time between an agreement and the release of a new product. Even though GPP was dropped, MSI had probably started some work on these cards and they continued on this way to avoid wasting the money spent on marketing, cooler design etc.

It's just a different name anyway. And color. But anyway, Polaris and different namings kinda odd.
