Black Edition ASUS ROG Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard LGA 2011

Evidently, the standard red and black ROG Rampage IV Extreme motherboard was too flashy for some users. Consequently, Asus is currently developing a black variant that, as the name suggests, keeps the use of red to a minimum and uses shades of grey to contrast the predominately black exterior.

The Rampage IV Extreme Black is otherwise identical to the standard version, which features an Intel X79 Express Chipset, an LGA2011 socket and support for 64 GB of DDR3 memory and four-way SLI/Crossfire.

Asus has not yet provided any information on pricing or availability, but we don't expect it to cost more than a standard Rampage IV Extreme motherboard which currently retails for around $450.

Looks like a great motherboard, but that little black fan is a deal breaker for me personally.

Damn, well I doubt Intel will go for a new socket for Ivy Bridge-E so this board COULD be available some time later on. Sad.

...but they want(ed) feedback about just that topic; so...they will pull out a product with a fresh color design ( all of 'em doin it right now EVGA, MSI, ECS, ASrock - all with a Black - Green / Gold / Red /etc. flavor) in the (near) future...

Hmm...fair point, but what about the new mobo coming? The Gryphon, from what Asus has teased us with, that looks like it will be a full black board. **GASP** They're getting feedback on this board to use with their new Z87 Gryphon...Gotcha Asus.

indeed ^^ ...the mysterious GRYPHON board looked like it will be a bad black ( but maybe redish themed ROG release) ...only thing to wonder; whats with the smarties on the PR-shot ? more colors - or just fun stuff...
