is there any chance to get rid of scratches on plexiglass?

StanicEnemy

I have aerocool LS-5200 pc case i bought it last summer. There are many scratches on the plexi glass side panel although i never smash it or i never put it down anywhere it just gotten bad with scratches i still dont understand how did that happen? I tried to contract with aerocool but but a single chance they never respond to my ticket, their support system is horrible i never recommend it to anyone.Anyway is there a real thing that can remove scratches or make it better?

It can scratch even when wiping the dust off. The only way to get rid of that is to sand it down or replace the panel (or go TG :) )

Really? I tried to clean it with a good fabric cloth like for monitors.Pardon me but what does sand it down mean and TG?

TG = tempered glass. Glass doesn't scratch nearly as easily as plexiglass but it is more fragile and expensive. By sanding down I mean literally removing a layer of the plexiglass, although I'm not actually sure you can do this now that I think of it, LOL.

you could try sanding it with very fine grit sandpapaer, and then polishing it out untill it becomes smooth again. if this isn't done properly you run the risk of permanently turning it into a piece of matte glass tough :P

sanding/ polishing it:

look online for people polishing their car heaadlights. its basically the same thing. get a fine sandpaper like 4000 at least and wet sand. IMPORTANT: if you do sand plexi, always wet sand it. meaning get some clean water on there while sanding it. sanding it dry will only make it worse. and then as a finishing touch you can get some plexi polish and polish the hell oout of it with a microfiber cloth. depending on how deep the cratches are youll need to decide wether at all or how much sanding needs to be done or if you might get it out  just with polish. i have a 7cm thick block of plexi that i use for a couch table but when i got it, it was scrtched and even broken in so many places that i went to a for lack of the offical job name lets say wood fabrication specialist and had it cut down half a cm on each side before sanding and polishing :D

replace it?:

im not sure how its mounted in your case but yould you maybe get a new sidepanel/glass somewhere? or replace it with glass while youre at it?

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

Just Googled your case! Honestly, the two best options are to do a tempered glass panel swap (which is generally easier than it sounds!) or to purchase a similar case and move everything over.

Let us know if you need help with either!
