Ryzen 5 with 8 cores being found

Apparently some people are finding out that their 1600s or 1600Xs have eight cores active instead of just six: http://www.techradar.com/news/some-ryzen-5-1600x-buyers-have-found-their-6-core-cpu-has-8-cores

 

Has anyone here experienced this? What's the likelihood that this is just a flub by AMD, rather than them sending out ryzen 7 cpus in ryzen 5 packaging. Or this could all just be faked.

It was just a well spread rumor, completely fake, it end up simply being Ryzen 7 1700 renamed as Ryzen 5 1600 on registry something so easy any one can do it.
