Actually some are on auto, that might be it. If I hover over the base clock though it tells me what settings to disable to get better results and both are already off

Hmmm. Most of my voltages and RAM settings are on auto. But the CPU stuff is mostly manual.

most of my voltages are manual but pretty much everything else is auto

I'm not sure if I should use magic or just settle at 4.03ghz I am already running warm so I might try to lower my voltage but idk how low to go

hmmmm... I'm at 4.2GHz. I think I could push it higher too.

I set my CPU voltage to 1.35 which is Intel's recommended max. and my RAM is at 1.64, it's max is 1.65

mine is actually pretty similar, my ram is at 1.65 and my cpu is at 1.30 I think

Zando, what Mobo, BCLK, and Multi are you at?

 

I have been stable and with comfortable temps with the following:

UD3R mobo

X5675 @4.51 GHz

215 BCLK @ QPI/VTT 1.325 V (might be 1.35). I have a feeling I can do 220 but haven't pushed it.

21x Mult @ 1.375V CPU Vcore. It's a bit over intel's max, but hasn't had issues. The critical one to not exceed is the QPI voltage (1.35 max) anyway.

8x RAM multiplier at 1.5V. Doesn't seem to affect stability and my ram is rated for 1.5. Will do 1920 MHz at 1.65, but had zero tangible gain in performance.

 

I've had it running at a stable 4.7 GHz by upping CPU Vcore to run higher multiplier, but temps were a bit obnoxiously high, and I didn't notice any other gain over 4.5.

I'm at somewhere around 4.2GHz, I can check all my settings when I get home. 

 

the BLCK is at 176 IIRC, PCIe at 103, CPU voltage 1.35, RAM 1.65, and most other stuff auto.

If I can get the bclk unlocked (I think it is an issue with the ram xmp settings) I am going to OC as high as I can and ignore temps so I can get a killer cinebench score. I need less than 100 pts to beat the fastest non LN2 cooled ryzen 1800x on the LTT scores

XMP usually locks the BCLK to a certain value in my experience, just disable it and set your RAM manually. 

Also - don't be so worried about VCore, as long as temps are fine ~1.425V should still be fine for daily and 1.5V for benching. I would really like to know how much BCLK the SR-2 can actually do...

I got it figured out! I had the Dummy OC option enabled so that is embarrassing lol

 

I can raise my bclk up to 300

I was wondering what the best single socket board would be and where I could find them for a good price I am on a budget building a pc for a friend.

Budget and X58 don't go together.

You're better off buying into LGA 1155 or 1150 if you're buying used.

Is it normal to not be able to go even 24 more MHz higher on my OC? Even increasing the voltage up to 1.4V wouldn't allow me to hit 3.98GHz as opposed to my current 3.96GHz at 1.325V OC.

Not true, you just have to surf for deals. I got an ASUS Rampage III Formula and a Xeon X5675 (6c/12t, 3.46GHz at stock or something like that, OCed to 4GHz ez, I think I even ran it at 4.4 for a bit) for $120, and 16GB of really nice RAM for $60.
