Is the age of this drive cause of concern?

RGProductions

Hello. This blasted dell XPS with it's broken motherboard. The hard drive is just a standard desktop 1tb seagate HDD from 6 or so years ago. Is 16,000 power on hours getting to the point where this drive may be failing? Pwer on count is alo almost 16k

My drive has 18760 hours and 348 power on count, that really shouldn't be too much especially if it hasn't been over heated or tossed around or worked hard.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Sorry for double quote I'm on mobile can't fix it right now. That's not nessarily the best news, that means more than ram slots on this motherboard don't work. The disk seem healthy.

I wouldn't trust the only copy of data to it if you care about the data

In theory it isn't... But I can't tell if the backup still works.

You can check the health of the drive utilizing our free diagnostic tool SeaTools. As already mentioned above, just make sure you are backing up your data securely.

Check this thing out, almost 65 000 hours or 7.38 years, still no bad sector problems. :D
