Friends inquisitive father touched the thermal paste.

My friend had all the parts delivered for his new Ryzen 5 1600 build today but his inquisitive father touched the HSF and in doing so smudged and removed some of the thermal paste.

 

Would you use it as it is or remove and re apply new paste?  Also if replacing itwhat brand and line should he go for?

It's fine, it will spread and fill in the gaps when you install it.

it should be totally fine unless you're going for wold-record overclocking or something, in which case you wouldn't be using the stock cooler anyways.

When he started to tell me his father (and we are talking about a 60 year old man) had been touching bits to have at "look" at them I said please tell me that he hasn't touched the cpu especially the underside. Thankfully that's still intact in its box lol.
