Getting A Laptop Soon

I'm getting a laptop soon, and I'm stuck on deciding which one I should get. I found a used laptop with a 6700hq and a 1070, or a 7700hq with a 1060. Both have a 1080p 60hz screen. I play games like beamng.drive and forza horizon 3. Which laptop would I be better off getting. Also if anyone has any recomendations, the max I can go is $1200. Thanks

6700hq and a 1070

30% increased GPU performance or 2% CPU improvement?  GET TEH 1070

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I'd get the 6700hq one, since it's not much behind the 7700hq (I'm assuming they're both 4c/8t), and the 1070 is much better than a 1060.

Try and build a desktop that has a 1070 for under 1200 right now

I would also go with the 1070

There is a certain convenience factor to being able to go anywhere and not being restrained to an outlet.

Honestly it's a pain to bring my desktop anywhere, and I definitely prefer not to bring it anywhere to begin with. Back when I was younger and played more games I bought an ROG laptop for just on the go gaming, or for road trips.

I just wasn't sure due to the fact most games I play are very cpu intensive

Doesn't matter, kabylake is a meaningless improvement in most practical ways.

kabylake is not really a "upgrade" from 6700HQ, a gtx 1060 will be enough for your needs. which laptops are you looking at?

I was looking at a used msi gt62vr dominator pro, or an acer helios 300

it will depend on the laptop, i would rather get decent quality gtx 1060 laptop than a poorly cooled 1070 laptop, OP will be traveling so a bit of portability is helpful.

gt62vr seems to be on the bigger side, look at SAGER NP8952 (CLEVO P950HR), Max Q should give you good temps.

My suggestion is for that gt62vr. It has a good cooling system

Spoiler

GT62VR has a great cooling system. Also a higher quality IPS display than the Helios (72% NTSC color gamut IPS instead of 45% NTSC IPS). It is a bit on the thick side is the only thing.
