CMOS replacement Extensa 355

A while back I bought an old Acer Extensa 355. It is practically new and works fine, but it has a bad cmos battery. Since I have no experience digging around in 20 year old laptops and there is very little documentation online, I wondered if any of you could help me? I can make a guess as to what the cmos battery is, but I'd rather not brick the machine by doing something stupid.

Any help is appreciated :)

No battery in the provided pictures.

It's most likely a standard CR 2032. My bet is that it's on the other side of the motherboard, under the keyboard

These pictures are actually from under the keyboard, I followed that article as well, but I'm unsure if it is for the same model as I have. Aside from that the bottom is a b*tch to open so I'm trying that now.

Allright pretty sure I found it, this is it right? Some genius decided it would be a good idea to put this in the battery compartement, under the trackpad.

Nope, you are not right. Thats just the Speaker. It's even worse! The Battery is soldered to the mainboard. An it's located under the area where the powerswitch and leds are. You may see it when opening the upper metal-plate under the keyboard. It's covered with a grey silicone housing with "acer" on it. You need to remove the complete mainboard to unsolder the battery and replace it!

Oh, you can see it even on your pictures! The grey part upwards from the 4-dip-switch. That gray thing contains the battery. Have fun!
