Is The io shield tabs installed wrong?

I pretty sure I did something wrong. I even had to bend back the ethernet tab because it ended up inside the port.

I've done something similar. Although it is very annoying, unfortunately until motherboard manufacturers decide to use the integrated IO shields on motherboards, lower end motherboards are going to be stuck with that of the cheap IO shield. It's annoying, but you did a good job.

It doesn't go in backwards, so it's installed correctly. It's just a shitty I/O plate

That is the correct way.

The ethernet one was supposed to go on the inside though. It rests on top of the port.

Those shitty tabs actually cost me a motherboard because one of them got hooked in a USB port and killed the motherboard.
