Worth of old hardware

IndraDM

Hello,

I cleared out the attic and found some old PC's. I decided to just strip the parts and sell them for a quick buck.

I realise that it may be difficult to sell these but you never know.

I just want to know what I can expect to gain from selling these items.

2 GFX cards: 3D prophet 9200 128MB DD
                      Nvidea Geforce 9600GS 512MB
2 Motherboards en processors: MSI K9VGM-V met een AMD sempron 3000+
                                                   IPIBL-LB met een intel core 2 q6600
(Both have a heatsink and fan)
1 PSU: KIM-POWER win-300PE van 300Watt

Thank you.

I forgot to mention this screen Hercules Prophetview 720 LCD.

Was my sisters screen for a very long time. Guessing it won't add that much to the overall value though.

All prices are based on the assumption that you're in the US. No idea how these prices translate worldwide. In Nigeria, a Q6600 is probably worth $10 millions Americans, and all you have to do is send the processor and $500 to release the funds.

The 9200 is worth a couple bucks, the 9600GS $7-10 max. The Sempron/mobo combination is worthless. The Q6600/mobo combination could be worth as much as $30-40 depending on what kind of shape it's in. Q6600 processors still have fairly high demand, although I'm expecting the G4560 to be the nail in the Q6600's coffin (and what a long and distinguished life it's had).

The power supply is worth a few bucks, but not much else. People who overpay for power supplies do so because they see a high wattage figure, not because of quality. In your PSU's case, low wattage and (probably) bad quality kill it.

The monitor is worth next to nothing. I buy 1440x900 and 1280x1024 screens at yard sales all the time for $5-7 apiece.

All told, I suspect you're sitting on about $60 worth of merchandise there, but you'll have trouble selling more than $40 of it (Q6600/mobo, PSU, maybe GPU).

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

you better use this monitor as a second screen or just use it as photo frame or any side project rather than sell it.

Thanks for all the input, I have a fairly good Idea on what to ask for every component.

Who knows, maybe there's some kind of enthusiast of old hardware around the corner.

xD
