What gpu upgrade should i get

Hi guys. Im planning on doing a little upgrade on my work pc. It is a standard Asus m32cd with i3 6100 cpu. h110 mobo, ddr4 ram, stock cooler, stock psu, no standalone gpu.

With the budget of around usd500. what should i get? my initial plans are,

1. gtx1050

2. new psu

3. 8gb ddr4 2400mhz ram

4. new cpu air cooler.

My question is is these even worth the $$ on upgrading a stock pc?

I'd say new psu (probably an S12ii), 16gb ram, and an rx 470. No need for a new CPU cooler.

I think those upgrades should cost half of that.

GTX 1050 - 100-120

PSU - 30-50

8 GB DDR4 - 50

CPU Cooler - 20-35

At least 200 USD or max 255 USD

How much RAM do you currently have? If it's 8 or higher, you're fine. If you're going to put in a GPU should go for a 1050 Ti, it's not much more if you can save up.

You can stick with a stock cooler for low tdp skus so no need to upgrade it, unless you want it to be more silent.

The PSU is worth upgrading after the GPU.

For 1050 Ti, if your PSU doesn't have an extra 6 pin for the GPU, you can still use it. You just have to downclock the GPU because the 1050 Ti works without a 6 pin as long as its within reference clocks and speed.

currently 4gb 2133mhz. am thinking to get a stick or corsair 8gb 2400mhz.

dont wanna spend to much as this is not my main pc. But seems like getting a 1050ti+psu should be the path now for now.

Well you won't have much problems if you're doing a single thing at a time with 4GB and a 6100. You won't be having lots of chrome tabs or playing a game with spotify on. You can start with a 1050 Ti with a 6pin, no need to plug it in. If it has a large factory overclock then you should downclock to reference.

You should be able to just drop in the 1050 Ti in and just have it run off of the pcie lane, same thing goes for the 750 Ti.

After I would recommend RAM or PSU to upgrade. The psu isn't gonna blow up anytime soon. Whichever you feel is best.

Obviously first the PSU so you can later get a decent GPU like the rx480/GTX1060.... make it 8gb of ram would be very good but not essential, besides your motherboard only supports 2133mhz so yeah... just get a second stick of 4gb 2133mhz if you do go for that instead and  cooling would  be an useless investment, stock is more than enough for this processor.

If you have a single stick of memory, I would definitely recommend you at least get a matched set of memory, so at least you get dual channel speeds in your computer. But as long as you have 8GB, you should be fine for gaming alone.

Plus if you don't want to kill all the rest of your components, a good PSU would be essential, I would think.

I spend most of my time on Autodesk and Caffe. CAD is great, as long as you know what you're doing.

Yes, you can game on FirePro Cards, it's just overkill if you never use it's full abilities.

Sherlock: 128 Core Render Server (32 Nodes, Matched Core 2 Quads, 8GB DDR2) running HPC Service Pack 1 on Windows Server 2016. Just because, you know, who doesn't want to render in real time? (Plus I don't pay the power bill)
