Hi, I am a fairly experienced tech user with knowledge of the purpose of all parts and what generally makes them good however I am not as good with the specifics of parts and smaller differences between parts or checking compatibility with other parts. I am currently looking to spend about £2000 GBP on a new gaming PC for both general use and playing the majority of newer games (want to get as much performance as I can within this budget).

I am fairly certain in the graphics card chosen, CPU, case (want the Razer version to match my peripherals I already have) and the storage however I can't decide on what CPU cooler to use (I am thinking about a water cooler however I have no experience with them at all). I have already decided I want two monitors and I am fairly set on the two selected on the part list however I am always open to better ideas.

Probably better off with a single 1440p 144hz IPS display, though G-sync is going to be more expensive than free-sync

Don't buy an OEM key if you're going to buy a windows key

You don't have a CPU cooler, you'll want a 240mm AIO or large tower cooler if you're trying for 5ghz, you'll also want to delid your i7 7700K

get a bit better PSU, something maybe 750W from seasonic or someone like them

You need a Z270 board to OC

Also consider an R7 1700 if you do anything besides gaming that makes use of extra cores

I wanted to get the 7700k just so i have the option to overclock down the line if I want to. I have deiced on two monitors because that is what I am used to and prefer

What difference does OEM windows make?

And what CPU cooler would you suggest? Not sure if I should go for water cooling or not.

So then buy a secondary 1080p 60hz IPS display and have a much better 1440p 144hz IPS main display

OEM windows keys can only be used once basically, but you don't need a key to install and use windows 10

You have the wrong motherboard in any case for overclocking

For the cooler either a Noctua something, or a Masterliquid 240 is solid

This is probably the delid kit to get, replacing the TiM with something better has gotten people up to 20C cooler

I'd get the single 4K one now (for sweet glorious 1080Ti gaming), and a second 1440p or 1080p for the side. Or a single Ultrawide, but those are expensive

It would not make any difference to performance now would it if I ran two Asus VG248QE 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitors? My OCD would kill me if I had two different monitors and i'm ok with going the £100 over budget.

No point having a 144Hz refresh rate though if you are not gaming on it.

You wouldn't game on both at once though. Maybe consider 3 of them so you can play in Nvidia Surround on all 3 at once?

His PSU is more than enough. By a long shot. His system will draw somewhere around 300-350W from the wall (and that's worst case scenario) I say that because I run a 1070 +6700k with 550W PSU. And With 4 drives, 9 fans I'm still way below it's max rated output. So he's good. These days, you don't need better than 500W for anything really..

That works. 1080Ti is a bit overkill for a single monitor at 1080p 144Hz but 3 monitors is perfect

ummmm....no, it's a 4k 60hz card, or a 1440p 144hz card, not a 1080p *3 144hz card

Not many games properly support triple monitor set ups in any case.

but if you're going that route you'll most likely want 3 IPS displays for the better viewing angles

That's not bad, but don't buy a founders edition card if you can help it

It was just a placeholder for when the AIB cards come out, I even said so...

Replace the 1080Ti with an aftermarket one (EVGA, ASUS STRIX or MSI Gaming /Gaming X/Gaming Z)

Do not delid processors it only improves temps by a few degrees and voids the crap out of the warenty and you aren't ging to need that aggressive an overclock anyway as even with a 1080ti you will still be gpu bottlenecked

Not true, 7700K sees improvements of at least 10-15 degrees

At what resolution are you implying a GPU bottleneck?

Anything except +144hz 1080p (obviously with some variation according to games) and where do you get your 10 - 15oC from Linus did a video on the 6700k and saw only a couple of degrees c of an advantage
