I have ordered 2 Titan X for SLi and 4K.

So just here to hate?

ok

SLI has issues with some games with frame times causing stuttering. There's not really any work arounds, but its not like running off a single titan X is a bad thing either if you have to.

No matter the game, you will not have issues due to having two graphics cards in SLI. It works, or it doesn't and you're on one card. Most AAA titles have SLI support,  the games that don't usually don't need it.

You're hating on SLI when you obviously don't understand it.

I tried GTX 660 SLI, maybe its because its an older card but it definitely didn't go well for me. you can see plenty of other success stories, I definitely don't hate it.

You're saying I don't understand it why?

Well i have looked around a bit at TITAN X SLi well Pascal versions, and it's basically the ultimate setup for 4K.

So X99 is the leading platforms chipset (HEDT)

I had to get my GPU's directly from Nvidia which i have ordered 2. (TITAN X Pascal)

Well there's your problem right there. Might as well say the internet is slow now because you tried dial-up years ago xD

A lot has changed since the 660. Pascal because of it's high bandwidth bridge is better in SLI than even my Maxwell card. And DX12 multi card support is amazing

So yeah, you're a bit out of touch. Not a bad thing, as long as you're not trying to give advice ;)

If anyone asks you never saw me.

People have been parroting the same old shit for years now.  It's so bad now, that people that literally have no experience on the topic (self-proclaimed subject matter experts) talk about shit that they've never even tried.  It makes them feel better about their current setup.  :D

I've been running SLI for years and aside from the occasional hiccup that one can expect from ANY configuration, it's been damn near perfect.  Oh yeah, and much faster.

@Techno_Reverend  It sounds like your you're building a beast.  You're going to need to clock that 6950x up and be prepared to deal with heat.  x99 is an excellent platform, but most people aren't prepared to handle it correctly, which often leads to negative threads and reviews when compared to 4 core mainstream setups.  In order to get the same overall gaming performance out of it that you'd get with something like a Skylake or Kaby Lake chip, you'll want to seriously consider switching to a full custom loop and working on a strong "per core" type overclock.  Good luck with the build!

Aiming for 4.5ghz at least with it but it will be tough with 10 cores, if the cooler i bought won't manage i may try a full custom chilled water loop with TEC's.

Unfortunately, I can tell you right off the bat, it won't.  You'll need to run a high AVX offset in order to pull off that clock speed with that particular CPU at 4.5 GHz and the cooler you have listed.

That's a shame. In a couple months you'll be dethroned by the cheaper 1080Ti.

Probably more like six months though, and I doubt the 1080 Ti will be a better gpu. It'll have better coolers, but anyone spending that kind of money on a system should be putting them under water anyways.

This ^^

It's illegal in Virginia to run Titan XPs on air.  Don't be the one who gets caught.  :D

I should buy a Titan X just to keep it on air, maybe get one of those ugly coolers that uses three 120 case fans. Oh! Make them clear LED case fans!

The 1080 is around what, $600ish right now? I could see $800. Maybe not immediately, but pretty quick after launch.

I can never seem to find a place with an actual price for the Titan X...

Pascal Titan X is 1200 US, you can only buy through Nvidia. The Maxwell Titan X was 1000.

The 980ti was anywhere from 650 to 700 bucks. Add 200 to that.

I have ordered them directly from Nvidia since nowhere stocks them here in England, and am building my own X99 PC with a 6950X! can't wait, been a long time going from X58 to X99 :)

Could not find anything but reference ones?

I hate to be a downer, but that CPU won't perform especially great on older games.  Single thread performance is just barely higher than an i3-6100, which is $120.  It's probably lower than the new Pentium G4620.  On newer games that utilize 4 threads it's going to be great.

yea tbh 6950X is a bit trash for gaming, less room for OC than a 6900k or 6850k, you wont have any gain from a 10 core vs a 6 core like a 5930k @ 4.5ghz. the cpu gonna run games with 3-4 cores and the rest gonna stall. better to have 4 cores at 5gz than 10 at 4.3ghz

best exemple; im playing far cry primal and its coded to use 1 core, so my other 5 are useless, but at least i got a good OC

900/1200 = .75 So 25% cheaper.

Want to test it? 1200x.25 = 300

300 times 3 is?

Wow, I would think a 2016 game would use 4 cores.

This is why a dual core with hyperthreading is enough for most people IMO.

So you're not only bad at math, but can't admit it...

850/1200 = .70, so 30%

Half of your claimed difference.
