I have a R9 280x but the VaporX one. It used to get really hot, but I was running BF1 on High with 55+ FPS, usually 60 with some drops actually.

BUT just got burned, and now I have a very expensive paper weight... So, becareful...

Well, something must've gone wrong if a Vapor-X card overheated...

Yes, but the PSU is of mediocre quality, and would be your next upgrade.

So ive found a new r9 280x sapphire toxic oc for 120 bucks is it worth the money? Or should I go for something else ?

not bad for sure, you'd struggle for something better at this price point

Just took a look at userbenchmark. Apparently, it is, but you need an appropriate power supply (there's the hidden costs to such a cheap card), and the spread of benches on the website is a bit wider; to be fair, the GTX 1050 Ti came out recently.

Still, it'd leave you with enough money for a future upgrade later on, especially if you spent enough money on a decent psu.

Rx470 outperforms it, if you can find an RX470 for 140$ (USD equivalent) like I did, that would be a better deal.

Ehh, given the PSU requirements, I'd edge a little closer to $100 for it if possible.
