EA is requiring streamers and YouTubers to put logo on sponsored videos

Response to your jab: poke poke.  ?

The only correct response to a jab is to parry/counter with a shoryuken

I do wonder what their motivation is here though.  I'd be straining myself quite a bit in order to believe that this is being done as an altruistic move for a clear and honest line of communication between the publisher and consumers.  More inclined to believe that DoJ is starting to crack down on this method of advertising and PR dept is doing the the twist&spin routine.

Here's the thing though.

EA is doing this to create credibility around reviews of their products that don't have the little watermark. So we as consumers end up trusting that any reviewer without the EA thingy was unbiased. Then what EA will do is pay a couple really big names to do "positive" reviews that don't have the logo on it, and consumers believe the lie that they were unbiased in saying that the game was "game of the year 2017" or whatever.

I can't be crazy right?!

A good conscience should require all youtubers and streamers to do this on their own without being asked. Sad we have to enforce this.

A good conscience would require them to refuse to play EA games, feature them in their videos, or allow them to sponsor a video.

This is actually a good thing, despite the FCC requiring that you disclose this sort of thing it makes it both easier for content creators to implement (rather than the usual blurb) and allows us to know what EAs influence is/was on the content.

I wouldn't even use it as a means to avoid the video either, but I'd at least be informed enough to know why the content is in such a format.

A good conscience would require us to actually help EA know when they're doing something good. Your suggestion just confuses the fuck out of EA and give them cause to keep being shit.

True but the pig fuckers can't even stop themselves from lying about it, you're crossing a bridge too far.
