[Build Log] OscillosC: The Unordinary PC *SOLD*

The HD graphics should be just fine for your day to day browsing. Don't know what you mean by more intensive browser stuff though

Ok. I am not so sure either about the intensive browser stuff but something like web games?? But as this goes to my dad he propably won't play any games. So i try with only HD 2000

Intel HD is enough for web browsing, if it wasn't good enough it wouldn't be in the chip.

[uPDATE]

Yay, today i finished emptying the case and cleaned it up a little bit. I also made holders for the mobo and planned where should i put the psu. It is hard to decide where to put it because my dad wants that the whole black case stays untouched. That means that the heat of the psu is getting stuck inside of the case. There are SOME holes in the case but i don't know if the air can move through them almost by itself. In those next pictures you can see the back of the case and how i planned to put a noctua fan to take air in from the side. And yes, I am going with only HD 2000 and put a sound card in there. Also I am not sure if i can use that... what is it called? Light bulb?  anyways if i could use that as a power "led" or indicator. It would be very cool. You can check the pictures from the first page and notice that red light in there, it has a light bulb inside.

+ Should i paint the inside black? Or leave it as it has been for six decades?

++ The front hole in the case is going to be filled with bended plexiglass in the shape of the old CRT inside.

Today I have installed the PSU, power led and a couple of usb ports. Sounds little but i managed to use a few hours to it... I tried to put power button above the led but no luck this time. Couldn't get the front panel off. Tomorrow i'll try again. I also started it up today (without monitor and storage) just to see how it runs. And it runs beautifully :) And i admit, the cables do look horrible but i think nobody will open that case after it is done, so it just needs to look good outside the case :)

The things that are still waiting to be done:

-Buy a ssd

-buy a sound card

-Install powerbutton

-fill the front hole with plexiglass

-make a back audio port

-Install OS

-Make some magic touches and cleaning

-Maybe some lights inside

- ++random

But anyways, let the pictures talk:

...+ Should i paint the inside black?...

Leave it. This is not the kind of case you want to be painting. It's too much of an artifact :D And it looks more awesome, when it is more "original" so to speak :)

Man what a great idea! The hard work will be compensated for sure! Loving the way that you put stuff, and you have a lot of space for cable management and air flow!

Keep the good work and keep with the feedback of the progression of the build! Great job!

Today I have made a power button :D Now there is a knot that you can turn right and the computer boots :) The second thing i did and this time with my granddad was that we cut the old crt monitor of the oscilloscope to about 5cm long peace from the original about 35cm long monitor. Now it just looks like a monitor but is very short. Also it lost that white color when we cleaned it and now it is completely see through. Needs to be painted to white again.

Tomorrow propably some painting and MAYBE going to buy the ssd and soundcard MAYBE.

Yeah, now we have a fully functioning computer over here! Today my dad bought the ssd and the soundcard and i installed them + Ubuntu. Now it is running flawlessly :) I still need to paint that front glass white inside and propably do that back audio port but after that it starts to be pretty much done! My dad waxed the outside (the black box) of the case and it looks just too good :) When this is finished I will try to get some real photographer tho take a few pictures of this because mobilephone camera just isn't right for this kind of a machine :) I have seen some completely ordinary builds with very professional pictures and they look more interesting than this just because of the good photography.

But yeah here's some crappy pictures again :D

even with the cell phone camera it's amazing, I can't wait to see the outer case all polished up. The only thing I would worry about is the SSD being on top of the PSU, it might get a bit too toasty.

As long as you have halfway decent lighting, even a cell camera will take perfectly

OK pics. Sure, you're not going to get some awesome depth-of-field effects and all

that stuff, but it's still pretty decent.
