Corsair vs bequiet! PSU

AyyLmfao
Go to solution Solved by comicsansms,

Corsair RMx is amazing. Get it, it wins hands down over the straight power 10.

If you want EVGA and Seasonic's competition to the RMx, EVGA has the G2, Seasonic has the X.

Hello, strangers on the internet. I'm a new builder and I am quite satisfied with what I have, but I have seen multiple PSU for a similar price. Currently, I am deciding an RM750w and the

Straight Power 10. If you got any other perferences, tell me. I heard that Seasonic and EVGA is a better choice. Is that true? Here is my build:

750W is overkill for a single 1070, 500W is enough. No brand is necessarily better than another, all have made good and bad PSUs. Ask about a specific model, not brand. The RMx is very good, as is the G2. Just buy whichever is cheaper out of those two (For me that is G2, prices will vary by location).

I'm planning to add two 1080's in the future for 4k, but I don't need it now. I play Rust and CSGO, so the 1070 is fine enough for now. I don't want to go on the hassle of buying a new PSU.

Thanks for the information. I'm not sure about the G2, I heard complaints that the psu was too loud or/and makes weird noises. I'll definitely check the X.

The Corsair RM750x is fine. It's a fantastic PSU.

If I would you, I'd personally get a i7 6700K and a beQuiet! PURE ROCK instead of a i5 6600K with an expensive cooler.

Ah, ok. As I said, I would get either the RMx or G2. The straight power 10 isnt that great, at least not compared to these PSUs. Seasonic is good too, but that depends on the model.

That's good. I was planning to get the Noctua NH-D15, but it doesn't fit my case. I looked at other videos of people building with the case I want at a similar price, and they including the water cooler, so I thought to myself, 'why not?'

Ok, I'm probs going to stick with the RMx. I'll just listen on what other people have to say first/

Get the RMx, operates silently, you won't hear it if noise is a concern.

RMx all the way imo. Have very good experiences overall with the RM series and so far only with the original RM I have had some issues so far. None with the RMi or RMx so far.

Also according to the PSU tier list the RMx is the better one. The other seems to be tier 3 so it's still good quality and decent.

A 550W G2 is less expensive and plenty for your system. Don't forget to buy an SSD. Your system would actually have potential to be quite slow without one.
