How to regain access to iPad mini without restoring

I have an iPad mini 1st gen but i bought a 2nd gen one because that was too slow and now i have realised i have important stuff on there because i haven't used for long forgot the password is there any way to get all my stuff without restoring the iPad

Unless you can remember the password, you're very likely out of luck...did it have iCloud on it at the time? You might be able to get some of the files through iCloud? :P

hmmm i'll try. could't you jailbreak the iPad to unlock it?

If I remember correctly jailbreaking from my experience require the device to be unlocked? (as in no passcode activated...)
