So 4k still isn't a thing. Ah well.

Bring the settings down, and it will probably run fairly well.

the 980ti actually does a little bit better in firestrike, like 200 points :(

Let's wait for more benchmarks before we decide anything here.

i mean, the 1080 does very similarly to the 980ti... so i dunno, these behcmarks looked raw. We can pretty much confirm its like every other generation.

Yeah, probably. Still a good idea to wait and see if these are the same numbers everyone else is getting.

The 1080 can get up to 2.5 Ghz (water cooling), apparently. An OC of 2.1Ghz on air cooling is probably going to be pretty normal.

You could do the same with a 980ti or fury x right now, but the 1080 just dos it a little better... More perf is always nice...

I'm not denying that. Just saying that with the 1080 4K at lower settings is definitely possible.

From what I can see as a general rule, a card will perform roughly the same as a card that is one generation newer and one tier lower.

Why ain't nobody commenting about the benchmarks?

Either way, 155fps in heaven?? 980 Tis are only about 90-100. Tesselation performance must have significantly improved on pascal.

GTA 77 fps doesn't seem so impressive... Techsource has benchmarked a 980 Ti that got 101 fps o.O Not sure if he even uses the same settings even though he claims he did...

FireStrike 17K  16,794? Alright I guess... Slightly OC'd 980 Tis generally reach about that level.

83*C on full load... Yeap definitely just a redesign reference cooler. Anyone expecting the new cooler to be better than the old one in cooling performance, yea no way. That's not happening. Maybe I just got too used to the 970 and 980 being under the 80*C range so this was a lil disappointing. One thing to remember is that the 1080 does have a higher TDP than the 980.

So... The 1080 performs like an moderate OC'd 980 Ti(Going by 3dmark). I guess we can expect the 1070 to perform like the 980 Ti.

Problem is the same guy benchmarked a pc with the same specs and the 980 ti got 101fps. I am not sure what is up with that.
