I can answer the first one. Essentially, you have 6 cards to the side called prize cards. Every time you defeat one of your opponent's pokemon, you can take a prize card. If you manage to take all 6, you win.

The playstation one I can kind of answer... 

I have a racing wheel for playstation 2, and that wheel has the option to pick between analog and dual digital. Essentially the dual digital mode acts like a switch, either on or off. Analog allows for control to be more finite then on or off.

I always thought it was because the PS2 was backwards compatable with the Playstation and some controllers didn't come with the analog sticks so you instead had to use the control pad. This analog button disabled the analog controllers so that it could be backwards compatible.

Guitars (depending on the kind) have as little as four strings and I've seen as many as 14 or 18 on one guitar. though there is probably more.
