Yeah, sandisk drives are really slow. Bought a 850 evo for my laptop and that thing is miles faster than the ultra II in my PC.

It's also a (nearly) 1TB SSD for less than $200. Yeah, it's no 850 Pro, but it's good enough, especially if you're looking to replace a mechanical storage drive, not an existing solid state OS/programs drive.

I'm not comparing it to 850PRO, I am saying it's based on TLC NAND

and if anyone payed closed attention on what happens when you put that crap in a SSD, you would know that performance will drop to a bottomless pit  - case in point, the whole blunder around SAMSUNG's own 840 series

 

I would not pay 200$ for that, I wouldn't even pay a single cent for it, I would not accept it if someone would gift it to me

Must be a problem with only the low capacity ssd's like the one you have. My 480gb Ultra II I have had for almost 5 Months has been used as my steam games ssd and has been perfect. Just ran HD Tune and here are MY results.

the problem is not with low capacity SSDs, it's with the TLC NAND

 

it's possible that SanDisk actually has enabled wear leveling on it's drives, just like Intel does on it's TLC drives

The only real difference with this ssd is that it only maxes out around 450MBps reads and 200MBps writes.

nothing out of the ordinary, just the TLC NAND is 19nm .. guess that helps with cell voltage drift too

 

I'm gonna RMA mine, a 2nd time now, and I'm aiming to replace it for a MLC drive
