Portal 2 XBOX 360 controller

mapegl

So the headline basically says it....well not all of it.

I have two xbox 360 controllers for my PC. They work perfectly fine in any game, haven't found a single one....wait Portal 2. I can do everything in the menus with the controller. It is enabled, everything. As soon as I am in the actual game it won't let me move around or anything. no reaction. I CAN however press start and get back to the menu, so it is not like it is not recognizing that there is something.

I am clueless. Anybody know this issue maybe?

From Portal 2 main menu, go to Options>Keyboard/Mouse then Enable the "Allow Developer Console", Click Done.

On your keyboard press the Console Key (normal " ~ " or " ` " (UK Keyboard Layout Key to the left on 1 on Top Left Hand Side)

Within the Console Window type in "exec 360controller" the press the Return/Enter Key.

Now go to Options>Controller and set the setting "Controller" to enable.

try this to

joy_remap_player_for_controller2 1 in the dev console

or

"joy_remap_player_for_controller1 1

also try this

unplug controller..restart steam

start portal 2 back up and then plug the controller in while in game

I already tried the exec 360controller command and it won't work. That's what it says in console....

Interestingly the other command joy_rema.... gave me controls for player 1 on the gamepad, BUT the sticks don't work....
