What resolution do you use?

Air tree

I'm going to order a 1080p monitor for my first build, i was going to get a 2560x1440 monitor at first but it doesn't fit into my budget anymore.

I play at 1920x1080 for the fact that with the budget I have for my PC, if I was to want a higher resolution screen that's more $$ for a better monitor. Not only that but then your computer has to be able to run that resolution at a good FPS level. So basically higher res = more $$$ all-around

I use 1920x1200 (not in the poll, though I realize this option wouldn't be hugely common). I'll be happy with it for a while. Think I'll wait until 4K is cheap enough and the GPU horsepower is there to push 4K with decent (or above decent) in game graphics settings.

The current 4K monitors aren't really up to scratch, from at least a gaming perspective. Their internal timing controls use MST so show 2 1920x2160 images instead of rendering the full 4K as a single image. This means you need to set up these circa 2013 4K monitor as 2 display Eyefifity or Surround which introduces possible problems that would arise from gaming on multi-displays.

Obviously for anything other than gaming this is pretty much a non issue which is really what these $3500 10-bit panels are geared towards.

1280 x 1024 + 1824 x 1026 + 1280 x 1024

Basically two Dell monitors with a Panasonic TV in the center with forced desktop re-sizing.

I run 800x600 for Minecraft. Umadbro?

Otherwise it's 1080p, which is the most affordable resolution for a 27" display. I don't have money growing out of my back end and I prefer more frames per second.

No 1600x1200? :p Having 800x600 but not the higher resolution version is a little bit upsetitng :(

Although I am indeed running 1600x1200 ^_^

Also:

1366x768 (Devil Resolution +1 for getting the reference)

1280x768

Knowledge of obscure resolutions is one of my things.

Another big one is 1680x1050 :D

Well we can't just list every resolution in existence... :P

1366x768, 1600x1200 and 1680x1050 are more on the common side :p especially 1600x1200

Wow nice list, is that all from memory?

You forgot 5:3 1280x768 though :p most awkward resolution I've ever heard of but it's very common in TVs which are often used as computer monitors.

I do not, sorry :P

3.14159265 is what I know :)

xD I sat down one day and memorised it to 13 because after that it starts to become a little bit too random.

3.141592653458979323

^ends as 3.1415926535 on most standard calculators.

That resolution knowledge is very impressive :p I guess you're either a numbers person or you're not.
