Why hasn't the 780 ti dropped in price since release =/

I bought one about this time last year and i was thinking about getting another one, looked online and they are still super expensive £500+.($770) 

 

I was expecting it to be cheaper =/

 

Anyone know a place i could pick one up for cheaper? PC components seem alot cheaper in the US but the import charges make it about the same as buying it here in the UK. Maybe theres a way to get around import charges?

I dont mind used but i prefer to buy from trusted retailers and not random people on ebay.

Because they are not making them anymore. Supplies will get lower, so price will stay same (because normally the price would go lower)

Not sure where it is cheaper. Best bet would be a 2nd hand, but not sure about reliable places

because nvidia...

the etailers already bought them for a small fortune from nvidia so they need to charge those prices to not make a loss and nvidia fans wi either buy them for that price or they wont.
you can get amd cards for allot less because they cost the etailer so much less in the first place they can actually drop the prices and still make some money.
my 290 was £350 at launch and is now around £225 so thats like 33% off.

the 780ti is discontinued  is one reason , but also because speed wise, its still better than a 970.. so it has held its value since people with 780tis still want a second one for SLI

 

its still a really good card even for its still high cost

Ohhhhh yea. Things like the 295x2 launched at 1,500usd, and now sits at a comfy 660usd, more than a 60% drop in price, making it, one of the best deals you can get for dual water cooled 290X's :3 And it fits in most matx because its only one card :3

Is the stuff on Newegg "new" condition? Seems very cheap.

Pretty sure it's new. Most of the 780ti lelft on newegg are refurbished and this is the only one that don't have the refurbished label on.
