Ryzen 3200 Using 2gb Ram

Ah so setting it to 512mb still dedicates 2 gigs to the igpu, if so, you could try clearing the cmos and trying to set it to 512mb again, you could also try updating the chipset drivers, but as I said, if you let's say dedicate 512mb for the igpu, and if the i-gpu needed more ram as a frame buffer, it will use more ram no matter what.

I am building a home pc for someone using the Gigabyte b450m ds3h, Ryzen 3200G, and 16gb ram. I have played with the BIOS and no matter what I do, the damn iGPU uses 2-2.1gb of RAM. Can anyone tell me wtf is happening? I have followed what every says to do (I went to chipset, Set Integrated Graphics to "Forces", Set UMA Mode to "UMA Specified", Set UMA Frame Buffer Size to "512 M", 756m , and 1g). The bios is up to date. "F51" I believe. Thanks.

Instructions for frustration management:

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

This in normal intended functioning of igpu. If you don't want graphics to use system memory a dedicated gpu is required

You can set a certain amount of ram for the i-gpu, though if the i-gpu needs more ram, it will draw more either way, this usage isn't really weird.

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

I am familiar with it using RAM as vRAM. My Thinkpad with Ryzen 5 did the same thing until I lowered it to 513mb. This is hooked to a 27" 1080 monitor. No games, just office/home usage only. What has me scratching my head is that it has worked for others. I know my laptop has a smaller screen but it does have the same resolution and has given me no issues when it was lowered.

Instructions for frustration management:

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

As I had mentioned, I even did 1gb...sucker still took 2-2.1gb. I was a bit sleep deprived, so I didn't think of clearing cmos. I will report my findings later.
