You really can't go wrong with the HXI IMO.

i have a phanteks p600s with 3 140mm noctua fans as intake up front one which is about 2/3 pointing towards the basement where the psu will be. while the psu fan will be pointing downwards and the exhausting out the back im sure there is plenty of airflow. my apartment is air conditioned and quite cool on a regular basis. i bought a hx750i for my last setup and i just couldnt get it to go into zero fan mode and i hated it annoyed the heck out of me while watching a movie last setup was a 9700k and rtx2070 which got ruined from a flood.

You mean you want to be gaming and still be in zero fan mode?

The 3080 pulls about the same as my 2080Ti does power wise.... and my system pulls over 550W gaming.... That's not from the wall...

no i know i will exceed zero fan mode while gaming. zero fan mode is 325 watts for 850 corsair rmi, hxi units and 400 watts for 1000 watt units corsair hxi, rmi.

You would be fine with the HXI 850 then...

The fan will never spin unless you are gaming.

Different platform, both the RMI and HXI are CWT custom platforms.

The RMX, RMI, HX and HXI are all different platforms with different uses in mind.

@jonnyGURU

Could explain it better than me...

The RMI and HXI and HX are multi-rail OCP while the RMX is not.

From my understanding the HX and HXI are designed more for the higher end professional type machines or higher end gaming machines.

@jonnyGURU @Corsair Nick

Can explain the real differences much better than most...
