How many fans will run on a single 4 Pin header?

Recommended Posts

I just bought five Arctic p12 pwm fans that can daisy chain together. How many are safe to run together at the same time off a single fan header? Is there a difference between a daisy chain and a splitter? I have a Asus x570 tuf gaming motherboard

Depends on the type of port. Most 4 pin headers provide 1a at 12watt, most fans use I think .2a. So I wouldn't try more than 3 per header. If you have a board with a High Amp port, those sometimes do 3a at 36 watt. So you can put significantly more on those ports.

Most pwm fan header can handle around 1a, the p12's specifically are .2a fans So you can techincally plug up to 5 per header.

Fun Fact: The Meshify c is the best case to ever exist.

5 fans per header, but to be safe, use 3.

Different fans may have different amp rating, it should be written on the back of the fan.
