Compatibility issue MSI A320M Pro and Ryzen 3 3200G

There has been a booting issue with my A320M mobo and Ryzen 3 3200G. Is it a bios issue or a ram issue? The ram I am using is Corsair vengeance LPX 3000mhz.

An A320 motherboard wold require a Beta Bios update (not available on all A320 boards) in order to support a 3rd gen Ryzen (Zen2) CPU. And in order to do so you would need a 1st gen Ryzen (Zen) CPU to complete the bios update, thus allowing the use of the R3 3200G APU/CPU.

The 3200G is a Zen+ part, not Zen2 but your point is valid.

 

Only MSI makes guaranteed supported boards:  the A320 Max series.

On everything else it’s a gamble.

Could be both. LPX and Ryzen are not really that great of a combo, unless you have the early stuff, that was still B die. Later LPX is kinds crap, doesn’t OC and usually doesn’t even work stock without an overvolt.

Oh yes I got you. I'll just change the mobo to a 450

Yes, that would be the easier solution. On a budget I recommend the ASRock B450M PRO4. One of the cheaper B450 options but still offers good VRM performance which is good for an APU.
