Best Laptop Under $500

Only needed for college and general usage, but I dont want to buy something thats not good when I couldve boughten something better for a similar or slighty more price.

What do you plan to use it for (light gaming, only school work/web)? Whats more important, battery life, display, performance and ect?

Just word processing and such?
Save the money and get a Lenovo T460/T470.

You can upgrade to a ton of RAM, a good sized SSD, and have insane battery life.

Yeah, in that case, a refurbished ThinkPad is just fine. You should be able to find a T460, T460p, or T470 in that price range.

The Acer Swift 3 then. Best option for your needs. The model with a 4500U can easily be found for 600$

 

The T460 and T470 are no longer sold new - only in the Lenovo Outlets in some countries or used on eBay. That means he'd lose warranty which is a major downside.
