Slow Boot

jhogan93

Hey guys,

I'm back again with an issue that has been growing worse. My start up on my machine has grown to almost a minute on a M.2 SSD. I'm curious if maybe I messed with my bios, or maybe my SSD is dying? I've tried some tips on youtube but it looks like cancer.

(if anybody was curious)

Ryzen 7 2700 @4ghz

ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING (Bios version 3003)

16gb DDR4 3000mhz

RTX 2060 super 8gb

everything is up to date (that i'm aware of) and i'm hoping its just a settings issue. if anybody can help so i don't fumble in the dark, thank you!

I think your hardware is fine and its just Windows playing tricks on you.

Windows just tends to become slower and slower over time.

You could test this by installing Windows 10 on a different partition and booting off of that. If there's an improvement, it's just a software issue

Also make sure fast boot is still enabled within your BIOS.

Check all the programs that start with your PC. For example stream client does. Not that they affect it so much but it's something

Do a superficial reset via the Settings. Also ensure that only essential programs are listed in startup. You can also use something like CCleaner to clear out your registry and junk.
