hi, when i dowload java and try to open optifine it only opens inn java control panel. how can i make it open in java so i can run optifine??

open cmd, go to whatever folder optifine is in, and run java -jar <name of your optifine jar file>

 

EDIT: PS, off topic but i feel the need to ask anyways: why optifine...

You can set java as default program for .jar, but why do you need optifine?

if it's f*cked up as a whole.. the easiest way is just to reinstall java, that'll fix the propper assignments..
