Remove password on startup Win10, netplwiz doesnt work anymore on new version?

You could always use the command prompt, if you have adminstrator privliges.

I had this issue too, what I did was remove my password from my account and it auto logs you in then.

control userpasswords2 seems to still work in 20.04.

settings => account => sign-in options => password => remove.

 

then all the way at the bottom enable the setting 'use my sign in info to..." if it's not enabled already.

Ok, here is a solution:

 

Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device\

There will be a key: DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion

Change its value from 2 to 0

 

That's all.

 

Knowing and guessing is not the same. I made that fix 3 days ago on new installation, so I know that it works.
