why cant i figure out how to download a simple file ?

have been trying for a few a days to get two separate mining rigs up and going . and the firs one needs the legacy miner because the gtx 770 shows up with error while trying to run in normal nicehash .

the second one has too old of a processor for windows 10 , so windows 7 32 bit . and so i cant find a 32 bit version of the new nice hash , so trying the legacy version yet again . but still cannot for the life of me figure out how to download the legacy version . i get to the download page and download and its an SLN file . i cannot open it ? everything ive read about an SLN file says its a text document , so how the hell is a text document supposed to be a mining program ? im so confused and im getting very frustrated . could i get some help please guys ?

Probably would help if you tagged or Quoted those you are responding to, that way they get notified of your response. ;)

zips files are fine on my side, not sure what you're doing, but that's 100% on your side. Did you turn off your anti-virus before downloading the file? (Chrome might stop the download and report it as dangerous, and anti-virus will certainly flag any mining software as malware, and so might quarantine the files and folders).

I personally made an exception folder for that.

yeah ... now that makes 100% sense ; you're downloading the source code !!! It even says so on the link you clicked ! :P

Those versions are too old and only have the source code available.

Also, NiceHash doesn't work on 32 bit systems (didn't know, just looked it up now) ;

The system I was trying to run it on yesterday has a 64 base windows 10 . But  had the same issue where I’m downloading. And just to clairify that is the only thing I could actually download . In the vid , I click the non source code version and it dosnt download , so I did the sorce code . This whole thing started because I was told my GTX 770 was too old to run in the new nicehash miner , and that’s why I was getting error every time I tried to mine with it . I have ZERO clue as to what the fuck I’m doing and it’s just stressing me right the fuck out .

It shows! :P

First, make sure to create a folder to download NiceHash into, then make an "exception" for that folder in your anti-virus. I use Windows Defender, so that's here ;

Virus & Threat protection > Virus & Threat protection settings > Exclusions > Add or remove exclusions

Then, download the Zip file into that folder and unzip.

Just make sure to click on the link that says "Zip package" and not source code, unless you feel confortable compiling the source code.

Like, follow this link, and click on the second link ;

As I said earlier, it won't work. NiceHash only works on 64 bits systems.

Okay , you happy I showed you the new version of nice hash ? I was told 3 days ago that I NEED the legacy version because this card is too old ? I don’t give a fuck anymore , I’ll throw another card in there and ruin that one . Instead of ruining this cheap one I got for a deal . My heads going to fucking explode soon . I moved to a entirely new system to avoid this one problem .  Gtx 1030 and a shitty Celeron processor . Because that’s the hardware I’m Ouhkay with killing . So why can I not get this one 770 to mine ?  I was planning on hooking more graphics cards once I got the risers , but if this system can’t even mine with one fucking card in it , why am I going to waste money to try even more ?

OP, you don't need to use the legacy version afaik, it was a bug with an earlier version that forced users to use the legacy version. I can, however, say in no uncertain terms that mining on that GPU will not be profitable since it has a very high power requirement, power cost will outweigh the minimal payout by a long shot.

I don't know how to fix your error but updating to latest drivers and nicehash release would be my first step, then I'd calculate the profitability of mining on that GPU and then I'd probably choose not to mine with it. But hey, you're not me so go ham.
