Waterblocking

Hey there,

I’ve got the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2080 Ti 11GB OC gpu which is extremely insane.
A friend told me that i should waterblock it to reach the max performance.
Honestly, I have no idea about the waterblocking topic.. I’ve seen a couple YT vids about it, guys using the kraken g12, others installing a full liquid corsair hydro system ...

I’m really confused and would like to have yr advice:)

thanks

Custom water cooling is a great way to squeeze the last bit of performance out of a GPU, but you won't produce a night and day difference, and it's quite a lot of work. Kits like the Kraken G12 are easier, but still require some effort that many don't find worth it.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

water cooling results in lower temps which allow for better OC. at minimum a 240 rad would drop your temps and allow for more OC.

the AIO route kinda sucks which is why most people go full custom.

not last bit. mattering on the card and the cooler along with the ambient temp it can help a lot.

i have a strix 1070ti with a ek water block on it and i havent really noticed much temp or overclocking differences compared to the air cooler.  Maybe like 2 to 3 degrees lower on water compared to air

That shows something is clearly wrong.

Drop a minimum of 30c on my cards but I don’t do the minimum to get by.

at the same time I wouldn’t cool a gpu for just the performance. Even gaining 60-70mhz on the core from gpu boost won’t do much for me in the few frames it would produce.
