No signal after changing resolution

blackviking03

Alright, my friend has a problem with his monitor.

Basically what happened was that he downloaded Assassin's Creed Syndicate (free on EpicGames) and when he started it, it gave him a black screen and the only way to run the game was in windowed mode.

So his monitor is a pretty old one (10+ years old) and he uses a HDMI adapter (because he doesn't have a VGA slot on his gpu, GTX 1050Ti)

So i connected to his teamviewer (before the issue) and ran the game in Windowed mode and it worked but then he said that the windowed resolution in-game (1920x1080) doesn't match the native resolution of his monitor (1400x900)

So i went into windows display settings and saw that he CAN go up to 1920x1080 but 1400x900 is recommended, and i changed it to 1920x1080 and he said he got a black screen and then i changed it back to 1400x900 and it still gave him a black screen, so i didn't know what to do next.

Does anyone have an advice on what to do next?

If the Monitor is nativ 1400x900 why would u try to run in at 1080p does not really make sense to me i mean its not even the right apsect ratio and what do u mean with black screen does he get a black screen while he starts the game or a black screen in windows itself if its only the game that blackscreens now just try to locate the settings data of the game and delete it to reset it

That's usually not a good approach. If you make a topic and then stop responding people will also stop caring about your problem. I mean, you at least told us you were going to sleep but some people just disappear and then expect a solved topic when they wake up.
