This is a somewhat unnecessary and wrong remark. Imho it doesn't add anything substantial to the thread, far from.

Not wrong in one but. Doesn’t need to add anything, isn’t a requirement.

Don’t need to unless you’re gonna prove otherwise. Assuming you have one to do so.

You can't, that's it. Or is it that your i7 8700K is having these lags and you expect the 3770(K) to be even worse?

Sure I can assume that too. Based on how the 8700k runs. or how the 4790k ran or the 3770k ran or the 4770k still does. Unless you’re some 60fps gamer there’s gonna be issues at some point.
Unless some YouTube parrot whats so say other wise.

A bit. About 20%, either way an i7-3770K is too weak for a 1070 TI

Always thinks his PC is underperforming

Your RAM spec?

My 3770@4.2ghz all cores didn't bottleneck my overclocked 980 Ti under 100fps. It will bottleneck in some games over 100fps.

Stop using online cpu bottleneck calculator, they're trash.

I understand at some point or even now, my cpu will bottleneck to some extent, but if i could get the absolute most out of my pc, i would use it. PC parts are not cheap to the average person. So i feel i got the most use out of a 7+ year pc and reguardless of the frame count. I do see the settings affecting current games, so i figured if i spend a few hundred, then i could get a few years more out of it.

My other option was i wanted to buy a mid range gaming laptop. I love the freedom of not being stuck at a desk and can game or work. I work  in IT and being at a desk all day takes a toll on you time to time. So I was either going to buy a newer gpu and a nicer monitor or buy a mid range gaming laptop. At the moment I leaning towards the laptop. If anyone has any thoughts, please feel free to comment. By the way I appreciate all the help from everyone !

That's good, better if you can overclock it even more. xD

As far as laptop spec, I haven't nailed one down yet, but i saw a few with 8th and 9th gen i7's with 1660/1660Ti/2060 with either 8/16 ddr4. For a decent price. I still need to do more research as far as quality and other factors of a laptop. As far as games, i have a big library of old and new games. I play a little of everything i guess. I've recently had an itch for fps mission/adventure style games. I'm currently playing Metro Exodus. @xAcid9

Ok, scratch all the info I gave everyone, I now have access to some funds for new build. I'm trying to stay around the $700 mark. I was looking at a 2nd gen Ryzen 7, MSI Tomahawk Mobo, 16GB of DDr4 3200 mhz and video card still up in the air. Either new or used, still debating. Any thoughts ?

The R5 3600 is a lot faster and better choise for gaming than a R7 2700/2700X.

Here is what I would go for:

R5 3600

B450 Tomahawk Max

16gb 3200mhz RAM (don't overpay for RGB ram if your budget is tight)

GPU--- Hmm F*ck (insert Geralt of Rivia)

There are a lot of options for a GPU so it depends on your budget and preference.

Nvidia: GTX 1660S / GTX 1660ti / RTX 2060 / RTX 2060S / RTX 2070 /RTX 2070S

AMD: RX 5500xt / RX 5600 / RX 5600xt / RX 5700 / RX 5700xt

AMD has had a lot of problems with there GPU drivers and while most of them are fixed now there are still some ppl that are having difficulties.

A used GTX 1080 / GTX 1080ti are also good options if you find them at a decent price.

CPU: i9 9900K   Cooler: NH-D15   RAM: Kingston Fury 4 x 8GB 3600MHz CL17   Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F   GPU: ASUS 3080 TUF   Case: In Win D-Frame   PSU: Corsair HX850i   Storage: 250GB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (OS), 500GB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (Games), 2TB Crucial BX500 SSD (Storage)   Monitor: Samsung Odyssey Neo G9.

If you haven't upgraded the cpu, you'll be fine with 3770K+1070Ti. I have the 4770 and it's not any better than the 3770K and I upgraded from GTX780 to 1080Ti in 2018 and still rocking it.

If you're going to upgrade the CPU, then the Ryzen 3600 would be a better one.

Not sure how some people do it. Must be a huge difference in the games. In the only one that plays cod as it would seem.
