Your game of the year for every year of decade?

Well, I'm late making this, but there's a day left in this decade.  Regardless with it ending, what was your personal game of the year, for every year of the decade?  I'm not talking what you played that year, but what game released that year did you enjoy the most, even if later down the line?  I would like to discuss the different decisions and what made you choose which game.

 

Here is mine.

 

 

2014 through first half of 2017 was a gaming drought for me.  I really wasn't interested in gaming anymore.  I didn't play Witcher 3 till last year, and I started Splatoon 2 in 2018 also.

 

But yeah, just wondering what other people's game of the years are for each year, and if you want, here's the template too, or just list them out:

2015

The Witcher 3 was the only big game I was able to concentrate on.

Others are free games  - Enderal: Forgotten Stories and Mindustry.

Though I did play The Witcher 2 also, the 3 is much superior.

2011: Modern Warfare 3

2012: Black Ops 2

2013: GTA V (can't believe it's been 6 years)

2014: Alien Isolation

2015: Witcher 3 Wild Hunt (of fucking course :D)

2016: Dark Souls 3

2017: RE7: Biohazard (didn't really play many games in 2017)

2018: God of War (the last great game I played on PS4)

2019: Very tricky, I love Sekiro, RE2 remake and Fallen Order but I would say Fallen Order since we haven't gotten a great Star Wars game in ages. Last one I truly enjoyed was the old Battlefront 2. 

2020: Can't wait for Cyberpunk, Halo Infinite and Dying Light 2. Would love to play the 2nd Last of Us but I don't have a PS4 anymore

I can't put the games to a specific year as I tend to buy them later on sale at around 75% off inc all DLC.

GTA San Andreas was really poor graphics when it came out in 2013. Doom 2 looked great though

I barely played any games between 2010 and 2012. Well, I played one game. And then I played a few old games for a month or two before going back to playing that one game some more to the exclusion all else. When looking at release years, I've gone back and played many of these games much later on:

 

2010: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (I basically played WoW until halfway through 2014)

2011: Skyrim

2012: XCOM: Enemy Unknown

2013: Assassins' Creed: Black Flag

2014: Shadow of Mordor

2015: Witcher 3

2016: Hitman

2017: Hellblade

2018: God of War (Honourable mention to Marvel's Spider Man)

2019: Disco Elysium
