THE WHITE RIPPER. $7,000 Ultimate PC. RYZEN 3960X, EK custom water cooling, 64Gb DDR4 3200 MHz, 2080Ti Founders Edition, ASUS TRX40-Pro Prime

Hello, everyone! I created this topic because I would like to hear your opinions and advices. Just in case, excuse for my english, I'm not a native speaker.

Back in 2016 i saw this video and I was shocked. This PC is just incredibly amazing! So it touched my soul and thats how my dream was born. I want to have a monstrous PC and aesthetically pleasing as well.

I told myself that I am gonna get something like this. But at that moment my salary was like 600$/month so I couldn't afford anything close to that masterpiece.

As the time has gone by, I've made changes in my life. I used to be a graphic designer and now I do video editing.

I move from a small city to a gorgeous Saint-Petersburg (check the pictures in the web).

Now I make enough money to realise my dream.

So the PC is gonna be for video editing with special effects as well as for gaming.

I will try to stay as close as possible to the design of the PC mentioned above so my PC has to have white-green color scheme.

Here are the parts:

Ryzen 3960X

Custom water cooling from EKWB

ASUS TRX40-PRO Prime

Corsair Dominator 64GB 3200Mhz

GeForce 2080 Ti Founders Edition

2x Corsair MP600 2TB Gen4 PCIe

NZXT H710i

Corsair HX 1200i

So, the total is $5,000 $6,500 $7,000. Unfortunately I live in Russia so it is hard to get some parts. The biggest problem is 2080 Ti Founders Edition. The is only one store that sells them but they currently out of stock. I have pre-order there and have to wait till mid-november but there is no guarantee they will arrive in stock. I can order this GPU on Amazon but here we have import customs fee which is about 20% of the price, so I can't go for it.

There is gonna be a minor lots and lots of paint job. I am scared to do it but I will practice on my old PC.

Anyway I will post here about the progress and I would love to hear any feedback from you guys!

No for two reasons. UPDATE: Yes, I have chosen Ryzen, but decided to go for 3960X.

First, I need a cool looking powerful motherboard with white accents on it.

Design and overall look matter for me in this build.

ASUS X299 Edition 30 is the best one at the moment.

Second, I am not a big fan of AMD. I am now.

Just get a 3900X/3950X or Threadripper 3000 if you need a lot of PCI-e lanes

A 2080 super is plenty good enough, what resolution/refresh rate are you going to be gaming at?

The H700i doesn't have great airflow. Get anything with a mesh front like a coolermaster H500

And depending on the software you use a Vega FE or RadeonVII may be useful for it's 16GBs of VRAM.

Aren't you guys right next to china where all the PC parts are made...

Doesn't really make sense to not be a fan of AMD, they brought down intel's pricing from a $1799 10 core to a $999 18 core

and still offer a better value.

The X570 Aqua is a thing...

And I believe the Intel 10 series will be using a new chipset, X299X, not sure about compatibility with current motherboards.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Little update guys, haven't been here for a while. I watched some videos and changed plans on my build. I decided to go for Ryzen 3960X with ASUS TRX40-Pro motherboard. TRX40-Pro has white accents on it and this is the one I need.

I ordered Ryzen 3960X yesterday. It is in stock in Russia for 1820$. Buying it on Amazon would be almost the same price taking into account the customs import fees and shipping.

The main problem right now is cooling solution. Don't know what to choose to cool this beast. I want to go for AIO but the thing is that there is no AIO that completely covers the top plane of the CPU. I checked EKWB production but I am afraid of maintenance and possible leaks in future.

Grab an EVGA XC Ultra Gaming FTW3. Just as prestigious and super powerful.

Use EK-ZMT (soft tubing, it's a very clean black rubber) on either stubbies with zip ties, or good compression fittings. Never had a leak with that setup on any of the various rigs I've ran it with. When built right, watercooling stuff doesn't really leak. It'll take some pretty stupid pressures too before it bursts:

This is soft tubing in compression fittings.

If you're after an AIO, Enermax makes TR specific ones. They do have issues with coolant though, Wendell mentions them in this review:

Timestamped to where he talks about coolers, mentions air coolers and the issues with that specific AIO.

Guys, gonna need your advice.

Here is what EKWB recommends me for Ryzen 3960X:

Capture.thumb.JPG.81dab0153c6bbec62f01cbbc0256ce37.JPG

https://www.ekwb.com/custom-loop-configurator/shared/oW5df27ccabc547

What do you guys think? I don't know much about custom water cooling but this looks good to me.

Should I buy additional brackets to mount the pump inside NZXT H700i or there is no need for brackets?

Is tube thickness fine? I chose 9.5/12.7mm size but I am not sure.

Today received another important piece of a future beast! RAM 3200Mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum.

Untitled-1.thumb.jpg.f3172cc29b0852d41c36f710a6f0acd6.jpg

The other parts I am waiting for:

ASUS TRX40-PRO Prime

Corsair MP600 2TB PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD (this one is incredible!)

Corsair HX 1200i Power Supply

NZXT H700i

The hardest stuff for me is EKWB Custom Cooling system. I have already planned it and it is gonna cost 500 euro but some parts are out of stock and I would like to get it before January. In my country Customs changes fees for international shipments in 2020. Everything above 200 euro will fall under the fee which is 15% of every euro above the 200 euro limit.

Hey guys, little update. Received new parts today. New MoBo looks awesome! The other one is Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). It is helpful for video editing and you can also plug a guitar into it.

I also finished planning water cooling and ordered custom cooling parts from EKWB. Tomorrow I am expecting 2080 Ti Founders Edition (had a preorder for it since september).

The other parts are on their way: 2Tb M.2 Corsair MP600 (PCIe Gen4) and Corsair HX 1200i power supply.

Hey there! Big update. Received a case NZXT H710i and finally got my 2080 Ti Founders Edition! I had a preorder on it since 18th September.

The GPU came in a double box from Nvidia which is interesting in my opinion. Haven't seen something like this before.

EKWB shipped my parts for custom water cooling. Also, local russian store has a lot of EKWB stuff, so I ordered a pump, rad, waterblock and coolant there.

Ahother toys I wanted to share about are VirPil controls joystick, throttle and pedals. These are the best in market. They are made in Belarus and are made of metal.

They are heavy and have smell of rubber and metal which is incredible! Feels like a real weapon.

NZXT giving away free Cats with their cases ? ?

That is going to be one hell of a system ? You will probably be able to get 30fps med settings in Minecraft ?

Put some pics up once it is built!

Can anyone give me advice how to mount the pump inside NZXT H710i? I don't really want to drill additional holes in that white bracket H710i has.

There's mounts that clamp the res (the pump is fine to hang from the res) and attach with a single screw, that's what the slot in the white bracket is for. Should look something like this:

tmp65o.png.26dd0c0542f879b0090d6faf8e70ab88.png

So long as they have the single hole through the middle, it should be pretty simple to mount them.

Or you get a 120/140mm fan mount and put the res on one of the rad fans or to the back of the rad itself (depends on if you're doing just push or push-pull), I did that with an earlier version of my rig:

(excuse the bubbles in the res, was due to bad tube routing)

Thanks man, but I want to keep the res clean. I will drill 4 holes in the white bracket. The pump came with a special sticker with a scheme of how 4 holes should be drilled.

That would look much cleaner in my opinion.

I also would like to say that NZXT H710i is a piece of crap. The production quality is horrible! My case had EVERY rivet damaged and with scratched paint on it. Some screws were screwed so tight I even broke screwdriver trying to unscrew it! Have you ever had your screwdriver broken? Incredible! Also, one of the screws was pretty wobbly in its place so I had to remove it. The worst case I have ever had. Feels like it should cost 25 bucks of something. I can't return it because russian stores don't give a damn about these kind of things.

Good point. Aesthetics are a massive feature of most loops, usually worth a bit of modding to keep them looking sharp ?

Oof, but yes. I've built in an H200, it was okay. Not horrible, but not amazing. Whereas my S340 Elite was fucking great, build quality was very very good, on par with my Phanteks Enthoo Evolv IMO, cable management was amazing, stuff was mounted in logical places. Quality seems to have massively dropped with the H series, but they still want to charge the same as the old ones. And yikes, I've had some tough to remove screws, but never that bad.
