What monitor to buy for gaming and content creation?

F.E.A.R.

I'm planning to buy a new monitor next year however I'm actually stuck at what type of monitor should I buy for gaming and content creation or the best option is to have two monitors one for gaming and one for productivity (I know a few and I will list them but I will also need your recommendations as well)? I'm going to spend up to 600€. I'm also torn between 1440p 144-165hz monitor or a 1080p 240hz.

Will a 240hz Asus Rog Swift PG258Q do the job for both gaming and productivity (the panel is TN, something which I never liked)? Or an Asus IPS 1440p 144-165hz or an MSI MAG271CQR or MAG321CQR with VA panel (I really like curved monitors)?

What games do I play? Well popular games and replaying old school titles, and games such as CS:GO, but I refuse to play CS:GO because of the huge lag that my 60hz monitor gives. A few years back I thought it was something to do with frames and graphics so I actually lowered stuff and I'd still get the teleporting units and huge 1 sec lag because my fps goes above 120 (290 CS:GO) in games except for some demanding titles. Never I actually thought back then that it was the hz that actually gave me the pain and still do.

I want to do YT gaming videos and possibly streaming I'm also slowly upgrading this is why I need a new monitor.

What resolution do you want your game at ?  Max out settings in video card panel or game or what ?  Because you can only get 240fps in CS:GO unless you run a game in low resolution then that can change.  What video car do you have now ?

All of that CS:GO stuff sounds like a problem with your internet and/or your connection to the server, a 60hz display isn't going to cause lag or anything. You should check if dota 2 has the same ping issues.

Set up is kind of hard because mixing refresh rates is likely to end in problems. Kind of weird to throw more money at software issues, but maybe just get 2 1080p 144hz displays with that money.

Otherwise get a single 1440p 100hz ultra wide

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I'm fine with the budget, but I just don't like to comment on that. I'm running at low settings to get more fps, I can run medium and high, but I prefer low because I have a Gigabyte GTX 1050ti 4gb oc. I like my fps to be above 120 sustained.

1080p or 1440p. If I max out setting that would be "High", because "high" is for gaming and "ultra" is for screenshots. Well CS:GO needs to be run in low resolution to go above 240fps.

Nope, I swear it happens even single player games, like Sekiro, The Evil Within 1 and 2, Doom 2016, Dying Light, Black Mesa, RE2 Remake and other games I can't remember.

Then more than likely it's a GPU problem, a monitor can't cause lag unless the worst monitor ever running at like 15hz.
