Crucial BX500 vs Kingston A400 240GB for old laptop.

Go to solution Solved by Cysero,

I run the same model of laptop but with a different original spec and region. It's a good laptop for future upgrades. It is capable of running an i7 2760QM, 16GB DDR3 RAM, 5GHz Wifi and of course an SSD. Graphic capabiity is limited unless you go eGPU but it depends what you use your laptop for. Thought it was worth mentioning.

Crucial BX500 vs Kingston A400 240GB for my old VPCEH36EN VAIO laptop. Please don't suggest other costlier ssds because this is the most I can spend. Thank you!!

New to forums bro.

You should refrain from making multiple threads of the same subject, your best alternative still is the BX500.

that dosnt make it ok. have you read the community standards?

anyway to get this over quickly the BX500 smashes the A400 into small tiny pieces so just get the BX500

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Hi,

Sorry to bring this thread to life after one year, but I was just about ordering one of these two for a friend, and would like to know where did you see that the BX500 is ahead of the A400 in every test, please ?

The first one I saw searching on Google was this one , and the A400, even with peak writing lower, seems better once your are mixing files type :

Userbenchmark database is filled with all sort of inconsistent systems, it is by no means a reliable benchmark to check on.

Every single person running it will have the hardware in different condition what messes up with the with apples to apples comparison, instead you should find reputable sources that conducts the testing with brand new devices.

I have some low budget SSD charts I can show though:
