Does it exist ???

So you see the m.2 to pcie adaptors and their completely bare bone, and you see thunderbolt 3 adaptors in full enclosures, is there any thunderbolt 3 to pcie adaptors that are a just bare bones like the m.2 key m one that was in Linus' most recent video

Maybe but i doubt it as TB is generally a external only interface wheres m.2 is exclusively internal.

Could always just remove the enclosure, if you really don't want it for some reason.

Why not use an m.2 riser cable but mount the end outside your pc; use it like a usb stick. (basically an extension of the old esata concept)

Transfer large amounts of data quickly, even use it as the boot drive of the PC so that the pc is locked if it is removed - office securrity at the end of the day - or just to take your work computer home with you...

There are riser cables that either slot into your onboard m.2 slot or riser cables with an m.2 female end that plug into a pcie x4 connector. either way an external m.2 slot could have a multitude of uses. (use a pcie 16 riser to 4 way m.2 female to have an external on case m.2 hub...)

Longer risers might involve a speed hit to data transfer rates but you shouldnt need a riser longer than about 50 - 60cm. Linus did a video on exreme risers with pcie 3 graphics cards and got some incredible lengths working well.

With a little engineering im sure the larger companies can make an external slot with a locking clip to stop it being bumped out at inopportune moments...
