What cable should i use

I recently bought the LG 27uk600-w 4K IPS HDR 10 Free-Sync

What is the best cable i should use for this monitor to be fully covered?

It doesn't say, there are 2 cables in the package, one HDMI and one DP, but they are to short, so i need to buy another one DP preff

It should have come with an HDMI or DP cable depending on which country you're in.

 

Edit: for HDR you'll want HDMI 2.0+, or DP 1.4+

My 1080ti doesn't allow 10bit color over HDMI unlike AMD cards, so if you have an nvidia card you have to use Displayport. Also to get freesync on nvidia; displayport.

I have the RTX 2070

Does the dp 1.2 cover all the needs or should i get a DP 1.4?

Then no question about it, you have to use displayport if you want to use Freesync, 10bit color etc. DP 1.4

I would go with 1.4 just in case.

 1.2 Technically support 4k 60fps, but probably at 8bits not 10.

DP cables do not have versions. Just get the necessary length you need. Ports define the DP versions.

So, there's no such thing as an HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 cable, or a Displayport 1.2 or 1.3 cable. They market them as such, partly to get consumers who don't know the difference to buy new cables and partly (in the case of third party listings) due to ignorance. General rule of thumb is to buy a cable from a somewhat known and trusted manufacturer rather than the cheapest one you can find on eBay. As long as they made it to spec, you'll be able to run all current revisions on both (though that will change with HDMI 2.1)

DisplayPort cables are not classified by version, but that doesn't mean they are all the same. They are classified by their speed rating, and not all DP cables will work for all formats as a result. Standard DP cable certification is certified only up to HBR2 speed, DP8K certification was introduced in 2018 for HBR3 speed and above.

DP 1.2 supports 4K 60 Hz 10 bpc.
