B450 board + Ryzen 3600 wont boot. Need help advice.

Go to solution Solved by Zagna,

That particular board isn't one of those that can update BIOS without a CPU installed.

You need a Ryzen 1st or 2nd gen CPU or 1st gen APU first.

Hi,

So I bought the following system:

- Gigabyte B450 Aurus Elite

- AMD Ryzen 5 3600

- Corsair Force Series MP510 480GB M.2 SSD

- Corsair TX550M, 550W PSU

- Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB)

- ASUS Radeon RX 5700

I put it together and the red warning LED on CPU and DRAM goes like : 1s CPU, 3 sec DRAM, >1s CPU and then stay on DRAM until I turn it off never going to bootmeny. (Se pic. attacked)

I know that BIOS needs to be updated, but I've been told by the vendor that I could update it without last gen CPU with a flash drive. But I can't get into the bootmeny to do that.

I don't have extra parts lying around so this what I've done so far:

* Unplug and re plugged everything to see if I had plugged something loosely.

* Tried different RAM positions:

   - 2 sticks in 1 & 2 or 3 & 4

   - 1 stick in any of the slots

Do you guys have any advice? Was the vendor lying and I should buy a cheap 1'st gen ryzen to uppdate the bios?

Thanks in advance!
