Can I overclock my ryzen 2600 with gtx 1060 6gb oc edition on a Corsair vs550 psu?

So base on the title I am confused if I can oc my ryzen 2600 because I have a friend who says it can’t be done . Please help

Your friend is just concerned with the well being of your hardware since you're using an absolute garbage PSU that may pop at any moment specially if you'll start overclocking everything.

 

Can you OC with it? yes but you're advised not to simply because of how bad the PSU is.

Yes but be carefull, your psu is not the best thing iin the world

I wouldn't listen to these other folks, your PSU is completely capable of overclocking them both comfortably. The only time I would be concerned with that PSU is as you are approaching its limit (450w+).

How tf are you supposed to reach 450W with a 2600 and 1060, and how is 450W close to the limit on a 550W PSU?

It's a low quality power supply, I said that I wouldn't be concerned about the power supply until you're nearing it's rated limit.

Your chip can OC to about 4.1Ghz has for your GPU you can too.  YouTube is your best friend remember that there is slot of videos on OCing 2600 and 2060.

 And also your motherboard can limit the overclocking depending on how good it is.

I have a 2600X and I have it overclocked to 4.7Ghz.  I’ve been told that I’m lucky that my Ryzen can go that high up without a problem.

4.7 Ghz?  How high is the voltage on your chip?

1.48v, Seems stable ran prime 95  for three hours with no problem.  And my max Temp running Prime95 is 83C and idles at 34c.
