Changing ipad 2 operating system

alattar323

Soo we have at home an ipad 2 that is not beeing used at the moment (it hasn't been used for months), we used to use it for watching videos at youtube playing small games. Now the reason for it not beeing used is because of its slow speed and bad battery.

so my question is, will it be worth it if i had a project for this hollyday of jailbreaking the ipad to change its operating system to android or something light.

Honestly if you replaced the battery that might be all you'd need. The CPU throttles itself so it doesn't consume so much power when the battery is crap (which makes sense). I don't honestly know if installing another OS is possible, but if it's just laying around doing nothing, you may as well just to experiment and learn. Though do keep in mind, despite Apple products having crappy hardware, their OS's are optimized very well for the hardware, so the experience is actually quite snappy. I don't know how well another OS would do on their hardware. But again, I doubt it's possible to install other OS on there.

Yeah knowing apple, I doubt you could install another os. But also a simple google search could tell you more

iPad 2 is quite old...  lol.

Even if you COULD install Android on it, it would run much worse, than iOS.

iOS > Andorid in terms of performance / efficiency. especially for Tablets.

To save you some time: No, it isnt possible. Any device that predates the OG iPad you can, because they use Samsung SOC's rather than Apple's own.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Wall Of Fame (Informative people/People I like): @Glenwing @DrMacintosh @Schnoz @TempestCatto @LogicalDrm @Dan Castellaneta
